Natasha Salonen

Natasha Salonen has spent nearly four years as Mayor of the Township of Wilmot, and currently also serves as Regional Councillor for the Region of Waterloo, a dual role that keeps her working at both the local and regional level on the issues that shape everyday life here.

Before local politics, she built a career grounded in public policy and civic engagement, earning a degree in Human Sciences from the University of Oxford. She’s carried that thinking into the classroom as a professor at Seneca Polytechnic, where she teaches Introduction to the Canadian Political System, and into provincial advocacy through board roles with the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and the Rural Ontario Municipal Association (ROMA), giving Wilmot a voice in the conversations that shape municipal policy across the province.

Outside the council chamber, Natasha has stayed closely tied to her community: as President of the Baden Club, as a board member of the Wilmot Agricultural Society, and through years of hands-on volunteering with local youth and agricultural organizations.
